Her father is a musician and had a number one on the charts 1974. He played the guitar and organ and introduced TS to the guitar. However, she preferred the piano - and her grandfather was a piano teacher and accordion player. When her father stopped touring he opened a music store and there were always a lot of instruments around in Tove's home when she grew up.
Her mother used to be a dancer and ballet instructor, now she is a manager at The Ballet Academy. TS started to take dance classes early and that might explain her professional-looking body language on stage. In january 2011 she started her performance in Swedish Television's P3 Gold Awards with a small "japanese" dancenumber. So there was both music and dancing in her childhood.
Tove Styrke has the body and face of a fashion model. She has already done modeling in Swedish tabloids and fashion magazines. Glamour appointed the 16-year old Tove "woman of the year - most enchanting" 2009 and 2010 she was on the cover of the Cosmopolitan and other Swedish fashion magazines.
TS is both a charming teenage girl and a young woman with integrity. She doesn't participate in gameshows and wants to create her own music. She even described herself as more of an old man than a young girl. TS can mingle withe the celebrities if she wants to, but she would rather stay at home drinking coffee, eating biscuits, listening to old-fashioned music and writing songs.
TS loves old-fashioned music as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, The Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles and Elvis. She was vocalist in a tradjazz band in her high school. However, her current music is electronica!
TS was signed by Sony Music in december 2009, but that remained a secret until March 2010. In the summer of 2010 She appeared in Swedish Television, making her comeback as an artist after the long time in the studio that followed Swedish Idol.
She performed her hit Million Pieces at the Swedish Blog Awards and Sony Music's marketing party in september - dressed in a vintage party dress and her Dr Martens!
